JAMAICA INN, is the story of a young woman - Mary Yellan, who is orphaned after her father is killed by bandits when they lure his sailing ship onto the rocks, to steal its cargo. Mary's mother dies soon after of a broken heart. She is forced to go and stay with her uncle - Joss Merlin, the old and sinister owner of the Jamaica Inn. She is helped in her adventures there by the rooster Sir Jonathan Benn, where she ends up fighting for her life both from the evil Vicar Francis Davey, and with the robbers who killed her father. The story is based on the original by Daphne du Maurier.
