Visual Effects Producer Ned Gorman began his career in show business as an actor at the age of 14, working in regional theater and studying in New York

City in the early 1970’s. Ned’s other major passion besides the theater was always movie magic; he was raised on the works of Ray Harryhausen

and in 1977 left theater to pursue a career in film. Ned spent 24 years at George Lucas’ Industrial Light & Magic, working his way up from a production

buyer on “Return of the Jedi”, finally completing his tenure at ILM as Visual Effects Producer on “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest”.  He was, in fact,

was among the first three people in the motion picture business to actually receive “Visual Effects Producer” as screen credit, something that has since become

a defined role on most feature films. Besides his work as a VFX producer, Ned is also a serious writer. In 1985 he wrote the script for David Fincher’s very first

music video: “Bop ‘til Ya Drop.” and he also wrote and produced two ride film projects in the Showscan format:  Space Race & Alien Encounter.

In 1993 Ned joined ILM veteran Dennis Muren, working with Stanley Kubrick to develop the visual effects techniques for “AI – Artificial Intelligence”.  Mr. Kubrick

opted to push back production on “AI” and sadly, died before he was able to return to the project.  Nonetheless, Ned remembers his work with Kubrick as a

high point of his career with ILM. Since resigning from ILM in 2006 Ned devotes his time to script writing and development and freelance VFX producing.
